TECOM Group, a member of Dubai Holding, and Dubai SME, the agency of Dubai Economy mandated to boost the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector, have renewed and expanded their strategic partnership to reach a wider pool of entrepreneurs and SMEs across sectors and help them to thrive in Dubai.
Through this dynamic partnership, the two ecosystem enablers will continue to support Emiratis looking to start or expand their business by providing tangible benefits for easier market entry and will extend their support for the first time to reach a wider pool of entrepreneurs and SME business owners from neighboring Gulf countries who are looking set up or expand their ventures in the Dubai.
H.E. Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of Dubai SME, commented: “Through our continued partnership with TECOM Group we aim to deliver seamless business solutions and outstanding facilities for our members. Dubai SME strives to extend comprehensive support and opportunities for entrepreneurs throughout their business journey. We are confident of this partnership providing innovative initiatives and strategies to build the next generation of transformative start-ups and bring added value to our existing SMEs.”
Al Janahi added: “Dubai SME is keen to extend the scope of its services to support SMEs across the GCC and provide the required financial and advisory support to entrepreneurs. Along with our partners we place our members on the best path for success in the ever-evolving business landscape.”
The partnership will enable TECOM Group to provide support in the form of tangible benefits, preferential rates, and business set up support to Dubai SME members across its ten business communities, which include Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, and Dubai Design District among others.
Since its founding as a vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, TECOM Group has been one of the main economic contributors to the inspiring transformation story of Dubai. In the past 20 years, the Group has successfully attracted over 6,500 businesses and over 95,000 professionals across ten business communities. In 2013, the Group has launched start-up incubator “in5” to support home-grown innovation, and it is now home to over 200 start-ups incubated within three innovation centres operating across the media, design and tech verticals.
Dubai SME was developed as a resource for support, information, and outreach for the growing small and medium enterprise sector in the UAE. It has progressively expanded the scope of its services and facilities to the wider GCC and regional markets through its local and international strategic partners, with a focus on promoting the spirit of innovation and talent in the industry as well as financial and advisory support to entrepreneurial ideas and projects.
